Well, I'm back from New York! The trip was so wonderful! It was really neat to see all the things that you see from your television screen on movies, the news and shows! There is really nothing like it. Everything is so big and there are SO many people. Here's a downplay of the trip: The day we arrived we just settled in and relaxed after an interesting first cab ride in an non-yellow cab taxi. We met up with Robby and Amanda and grabbed dinner and caught up! The second day we were there our big suprise happened! We look a helicopter tour of Manhattan... IT WAS AWESOME! Then we just walked around times square and went shopping. The only thing I bought for myself... that I didn't even need...A $40 PHONE CHARGER. That made me sick. haha. We ate at a wonderful Mexican Restruant that night right before we went and saw WICKED! It was amazing. I'd definitely watch it 100 times if you let me! The third day we were there we went to go see the World Trade Center Site. Talk about an eye opener... if seeing the mess that is still there after 8 years doesn't strike a cord with you and make you remember that horrible day, something is wrong. If it doesn't make you understand why we are at war and why we fight for our freedom, nothing... not even another attack on our home ground will. Having people who describe the destruction who were there really put it all into perspective. Then we went to the Rockefeller Plaza in hopes to ice skate, but the line to do so was CRAZY so we went to On Top of the Rock (truly the tallest building in NYC) and viewed the city from there. It was gorgeous! Then we did some more walking and shopping! We ate at NoBu that night where we all had a celebrity experience with Ronnie Dunn from Brooks and Dunn! It was CRAZY! But we did get pictures with him! This was also the night that the Blizzard of 2009 Struck NYC. 10.5 inches of snow over night... it was truly the most snow I have ever seen! It was so pretty! It made the NY trip so perfect! The day we flew out, we stopped at Central Park to walk around and see all the snow! We also ate at Tavern on the Green (which is shutting down :( ). Then we headed to the Air Port through all the snow and we caught our flight on time! We really lucked out and had a great trip!
The New York trip made my Christmas Break (my last big break before I graudate) excellent... what makes it more excellent is Christmas and everything it brings. You cannot stick a hefty price tag, pretty wrapping and a large bow to even compare to the blessing of family. I have the most wonderful family and I love each person in such a different way. They mean the world to me. This was the best Christmas I have ever had. I got to see everyone I really love, make some new memories and have great time to visit with those that mean the most to me. I encourage everyone to take time and hug those around you and celebrate the reason for the season... Our Savior's birth. I gaurentee you will not be let down!
Have a great, safe and blessing filled holiday!
Live. Laugh. Love
